Free Empathy Café: Practicing Deep, Non-judgmental Listening
Thu, July 20, 2017, 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM EDT
This 90-minute gathering, led by Compassionate Communication facilitators, is for people who wish to learn and practice empathy: A quality of presence that enables another person to feel deeply heard and seen.
LOCATION: Compassionate Communication Center of Ohio's offices are in the upper level of the Maynard Avenue United Methodist Chuch, on the corner of Indianola and Maynard Aves, Columbus, Ohio
PARKING: Park in the lot across Maynard Avenue and enter through the double glass doors. We're on the top floor (follow the signs) and straight to the back. If no one is at the door to greet you, ring the buzzer on the right hand side of the glass doors, and someone will come let you in!
People of all experience levels are welcome to this gathering, ranging from beginners to experienced practitioners. We will have a short explanation, a demonstration, and then give everyone a chance to practice empathic presence in real time.
You will have a chance to get to know other like-minded people, build community, and practice empathic listening skills with other participants.
We welcome you to the Empathy Café to experience some different flavors of life that you may not have tasted before!
You don't have to print or bring tickets, but your registration helps us know how many people will be attending! Thank you!
