FREE CRPS Educational Workshop for RMTs
Sun, May 14, 2017, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM PDT
This 2 hour workshop is for registered massage therapists who are interested in learning more about the extremely painful neuropathic pain condition known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (or formerly Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). CRPS patients who are looking to access massage services in the community are often concerned about finding a practitioner who is not only familiar with CRPS but also has enough understanding of the disease to not cause further damage or trauma to the affected limb(s).
Co-founders of CRPS Hope & Awareness Foundation, Kate and Jen, will provide an overview of Complex Regional pain syndrome including definition, signs & symptoms, effects, occurrence, higher risk populations, etc.
Our co-presenter, Registered Massage Therapist Denise Mackinnon, will present information about the implications for practice for massage therapist as well as facilitate a discussion regarding working with CRPS affected clients.
Resources such as brochures, posters and related articles will be available.
Spaces are extremely limited and although the event is free, we request that you RSVP to hold your seat. Additional workshops may be offered based on need.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to add their name to a list of practioners who attended the educational workshop series and this list will be available to CRPS sufferers who are looking to access services in the community.
