HappyCoding is kicking off our new offerings for 2017 Winter- Spring semester! Come to our open house and meet with our super knowledgeable instructors and friendly staff!
1:00pm-2:00pm Python 101 (ages 10+)
This is the first course in the Python series. It covers the fundamentals of Python as a procedural and scripting language. This includes topics such as variables, operators, conditional statements, loops, lists, tuples, dictionaries and sets. The special of our course is it adopts CodeCombat, a platform that offers real coding from the very first level. More importantly, it shapes the learning process into a continuous challenge to beat the game so as to keep students thoroughly engaged. No previous programming experience required.
Instructor: Dong, Ph.D. from University of Chicago. Instructor at San Jose State University Computer Science Department.
2:15pm- 3:15pm Web Dev 101 (ages 9-12)
This is an excellent class to learn about coding, user interface design and how the web works. It provides an ample opportunity for you to be creative and expressive.
Instructor: Simon,18+ year’s IT professional experience with more than 10 years in web development. B.A. from Lebanese University. A father of two kids.
3:30pm- 4:30pm Magic Circuit (ages 10+)
In this course we cover the fundamentals of electrical and electronic components like capacitors , resistors , potentiometers, diodes, transistors, timers and batteries. Students will work on small projects that use above components along with many other devices. By the end of the course children will be able to understand the concepts of electronics and how the electronic devices work
Instructor: Prathilbha, Master degree from VIT University, 9 years of experience both in embedded and teaching industry . 2 years of experience in teaching for graduate level students. Mother of two kids.
4:45-5:45pm Java 101 (ages 14+)
This is the first course in the Java series.It covers the fundamental programming concepts like variables, variable types, arrays, loops, and conditional statements. You will learn the basics of object-oriented programming by developing simple classes and calling methods on various objects. The course does some innovative projects to make the class fun and inspiring for students.
Instructor: Sheela, afterschool teacher, 10+ years teaching experience, excellent presentation, motivational and leadership skills, best Student Teacher award. Bachelor of Engineering from Instrumentation Technology, India.
