Event description

Description

Join us for a free Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) waiver training to prescribe medication for the treatment of opioid use disorder. This training is intended for prescribers (MD, DO, NP, PA) in primary care or specialty practice settings.

You will receive 4.25 hours of face-to-face training with Nick Gideonse, MD, and Amanda Risser, MD, of OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond Clinic. After this session, you will need to complete 3.75 hours of online training to satisfy the required 8 hours of training on medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to obtain a waiver from the Drug Enforcement Agency to prescribe buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is one of three medications approved by the FDA for the treatment of opioid use disorder.

Those who have successfully completed the course (both live and on-line) are eligible to apply to SAMHSA to obtain a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine.

NPs and PAs may take this waiver training and it will count towards their waiver application. However, they will also have an additional 16 hours of training that is available online at no cost.

FamilyCare Health is offering this training at no cost to prescribers, but registration is required to pariciapte. This event includes breakfast.
