Event description

Join Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra for an Open Rehearsal

*** Waitlist Access Only ***

Please note that the event has reached RSVP capacity.

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra wants you to have a chance to take a behind-the-scenes look and listen as Jaime Martín puts the finishing touches on Beethoven’s Symphony 7.

We’re hoping casual listeners will have a chance to discover what increasing numbers of hardcore classical music fans have already realized — at rehearsal you get to see music come to life as the conductor and musicians work together to sculpt a work for performance.

We’re inviting the public to watch the Orchestra’s rehearsal through to the first break (approximately 45 - 60 minutes). The rehearsal will be free of charge, but seating is limited. We’re asking folks to reserve seats to this free, family-friendly event in advance through eventbrite.

The atmosphere is relaxed. Food and drinks purchased from the Theatre’s concession stands are allowed in the theatre, but please endeavor to be as quiet as possible. This is a working rehearsal, so we’re asking attendees to refrain from talking, photography, video and to please hold your applause.

After the program, join us in the lobby for complimentary refreshments — courtesy of Glendale Arts — or visit the Musical Petting Zoo provided by the Brand Library & Art Center to try out instruments, including drums and percussion, keyboards, guitars, wind instruments and more.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Nope. This is a family friendly event. Please be mindful that the rehearsal itself may last up to one hour in a darkened theater. If you or your children don't want to sit still for that long, feel free to come to just the party at about 11 am.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Glendale offers many public parking lots which validate at the Alex Theater ($1 for four hours with validation. Rates subject to change).

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nope, we can scan from your phone.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

It's ok. Not ideal, but we'll let you pass.
