Event description
Submerge yourself into the rich culture and history behind the colorful pieces created by the Castillo family at our Free Art Talk!

About this Event

Alfonso Castillo Hernandez and his family come from a long line of Puebla potters with more than 250 years of tradition. The family is renowned for its creation of elaborate Arbol de la Vida (Tree of Life) sculptures. Their family’s Trees of Life have been exhibited in Germany, Austria, Spain, and the United States. Alfonso also creates various themed works for Dia de los Muertos including decorated skulls and catrinas.

Following the art talk, take part in our "Making of" Workshop with the artist himself! In addition to Castillo’s expert instruction, the $35 fee/person includes a skull awaiting your customization, paint, brushes and other materials! Upon completing the class, your personalized ceramic skull will be yours to keep. Purchase your ticket today - seating is limited!

Stick around after the art talk and workshop for drink specials and a delicious Latin American buffet!
