About this event

Ever wondered how great it would be to live on a farm? Or wondered how the goats and other animals are fed and cared for? Is raising livestock difficult? How quickly do hogs grow? How many times a day do you have to milk? Come and visit Grapetown Vineyard and Farm in Fredericksburg Texas and get a behind-the scenes look at the complex operations and interactions of a working farm! You will see and feed exotic animals like Camels, Zebras, Bison and Longhorn! We also raise Boer, Nigerian Dwarf, African Pygmy and Saanen Dairy Goats, plus chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and even some Donkeys.

Please be on time, and by that we mean EARLY for your TOUR. We cannot wait on you, as it holds up the entire group! We serve lunch and dinner (Noon until 9PM) at Bankersmith Dance Hall and Saloon after the Farm Tours, so plan on enjoying some great food and libations before or after your Farm Tour (Meals not Included).

Adult tickets are $25 in advance.

Child tickets (aged 1 - 12) are $10 each

Newborns being carried are free, but children walking or in strollers (including newborns) must have a ticket.

We do offer a military discount through VetTix (these do NOT include the MEAL)!

There is a two person minimum for each tour, so bring a friend or Contact Us for information on a single person tour.

If you have a group of 15 or more, please email us at

Adults must sign farm liability waiver forms for themselves and accompanied children.

Off Season: End of December until February, we do not offer tours.

We cannot guarantee tour availability if you don't schedule ahead of time.

Length of Tour:

The tour usually lasts 45 - 90 minutes depending on how many questions are asked.

If you have a time limit, please let your tour guide know at the beginning of your tour.

Tours are given during all types of weather and the majority of the tour takes place outside.

You may want to bring an umbrella or rain coat if rain is expected.

Much of the tour is not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately as a farm/ranch our areas are gravel or grass so parts of the garden may be missed if the wheelchair can't cross gravel. Email us and we can work to provide you with a private tour or make arragements in advance.
