Description

The Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support (1 day training)

Tuesday, September 26 (8:00am - 5:00pm)
FRCA adopted The Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support in 2013. They are the first and only standards in the country to integrate and operationalize the Principles of Family Support Practice with the Strengthening Families Frameworks and its research-based evidence-informed 5 Protective Factors. The vision is that their implementation will help ensure that families are supported and strengthened through quality practice. FRCA is the only organization in Colorado trained and authorized to conduct this training.

Motivational Interviewing (1.5 days training)

Wednesday, September 27 (8:00am - 5:00pm)

Thursday, September 28 (8:00am - 12:00pm)

Family development workers can use Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques to help families develop, set and achieve their goals. MI is a supportive approach to encouraging families to talk about their need for change and readiness to make those changes. The interviewer listens and reflects thoughts and ideas back to the family to help develop a clear plan using the Colorado Family Support Assessment 2.0 tool.

The Colorado Family Support Assessment 2.0 Tool (1/2 day training)

Thursday, September 28 (1:00pm - 5:00pm)
The Colorado Family Support Assessment 2.0 (CFSA 2.0) is a tool developed by FRCA to measure family self-reliance across 14 domains, (i.e. employment, education, housing and support systems), and help families set goals in selected domains. The tool also assesses caregiver’s existing strengths and readiness to change. The family development worker uses MI techniques to work with families from a strengths-based approach to complete the assessment and follow up on progress.
