Step back in time to a bygone era of grace and self-sufficiency. The Person Place Preservation Society invites you to the 2017 Eighth biennial Franklin County Historic Homes tour. We are proud to offer 9 beautiful homes, a plantation, and a historic African-American church. All are in or near the Louisburg area and date back to 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
A significant treasure being shown at the show is: Woodleaf Plantation. (National Registry) This two-story frame house has been lovingly restored to its 1838 glory, and includes a complete collection of outbuildings. It has been featured on the cover of “Southern Living” magazine. The original Massenburg family who lived here in that era left a detailed diary of day to day events and costs.
Antique automobile show on Saturday. This will include a viewing of our Town’s exceptional 1921 “Old Maude” Fire Truck.
Homemade Box Lunch available on Saturday at the Person Place for $10
A choral presentation from the First Baptist Church on Sunday
