MORE DETAILS:

For this Saturday afternoon tour, we will be walking in the footsteps of Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, John Paul Jones and John Adams—the original Americans in Paris!

Stopping at fourteen places of interest along our route, learn how the Frenchmen Admiral de Grasse and Generals Rochambeau and Lafayette helped the fledgling American nation break free from the English crown, with the financial backing of Beaumarchais and Louis XVI. Gaze at the inspiration for the dome on Jefferson’s home of Monticello; discover a Bartholdi statue that is NOT in New York’s harbour; and stand in front of the place where America’s birth certificate was signed.

This tour is family, guest, and even dog friendly. Wear comfy walking shoes; bring a water bottle and an energy bar. We will be outdoors, so dressing in layers is prudent. And, it probably won’t rain, right?

Meeting place and time: Saturday, Feb. 3; 15:00 at “Le Wilson,” 2 Place du Trocadero
Ending: about 18:00 at “Le Procope,” at 13 rue de l’Ancienne Comedie
