About this Event

As a kick-off to the ForwardDallas Comprehensive Land Use Update, the Dallas Planning & Urban Design (PUD) department is hosting the ForwardDallas Neighborhoods Summit for Dallas neighborhood leaders, aspiring leaders and residents to help understand the planning process and how to get involved. The Neighborhoods Summit will have a variety of sessions to educate and inform about resources related to land use and provide tangible ways for people to participate.

The way land is used and planned throughout the city can affect the quality of our lives. In mid-September, the City of Dallas will begin a year-long process to update the FowardDallas Comprehensive Land Use Plan. Adopted by City Council in 2006, the ForwardDallas Plan provided the general citywide vision for future land development and established policy to guide zoning. Our city has grown and changed a great deal since 2006. We will be updating this plan with the involvement of city of Dallas residents and stakeholders to reflect those changes and resident and stakeholders’ vision for the future of our city. This Comprehensive Land Use Plan is intended to ensure that our City land use policy actively promotes economic vitality, environmental sustainability and equity throughout Dallas.

Feel free to join us for the entire event, a few sessions or one session. Links will be sent 1-2 days prior to the event.
