Fourth of July at the Chrysalis

Enjoy a FREE full day music festival celebrating Independence Day!

Start your Independence Day celebration with amazing music. Kick things off at 11 a.m. with Sherwin Thwaites for steel drum music. Then at 12:30 p.m. welcome the CAMMO American Military Spouses Choir with rousing Americana. Then at 1:30 p.m. join O'Malley's March for Celtic Rock. Closing the show is Here's to the Night for 90s rock.

What to Expect Onsite

Covid-19 Safety Protocols

We are constantly re-evaluating our Covid-19 safety protocols. Currently masks are highly encouraged but not required.

Seating

All seating will be on the lawn. Lawn chairs are available for rent, or you may bring a blanket or a standard sized lawn chair with no canopy or blanket.

What can I bring?

A picnic (no glass or alcohol), lawn chairs / blankets, and a love for community and music!

Food and beverage

Food trucks will be onsite, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase.

No Pets

No pets except service animals are permitted at this event. We will miss our four legged friends, but please do bring canine companions to events where permitted.

Restrooms

Restrooms are available at the top of Chrysalis hill.

How do I get to the Lakefront for fireworks?

Fireworks are a short, short walk away! Less than a half mile on the Downtown Columbia trail / Little Patuxent Parkway sidewalk!

Parking

All other parking

Parking will be in Lots 1 and 2, a short walk from the Chrysalis. Parking is first come first served, and self-park.

Lot 1:

For GPS purposes, please use the address 10477 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Columbia, MD 21044.

To get to Lot 1, go to the intersection of Little Patuxent Parkway and Merriweather Drive. Lot 1 is the curvilinear triangular shaped lot to the left if you are facing away from the mall, all surface parking.

Lot 2 (flat):

For GPS purposes, please use the address 11000 Broken Land Parkway, Columbia, MD 21044 (you are going to the flat surface parking lot, not the garage).

From points north: Take 29 South to 175 West (Columbia). Continue as 175 becomes Little Patuxent Parkway, for approximately 2.3 miles. Make a left onto Merriweather Drive and follow the signs to Lot 2, which is to the right.

From points south: Take 29 North to Broken Land Parkway towards Town Center / Merriweather Post Pavilion. Make a right onto Little Patuxent Parkway, continue for approximately 0.2 miles. Make a right onto Merriweather Drive and follow the signs to Lot 2, which is to the right.
