Description

Each Fourth Friday of the month join us for a night of art, film, food and fun. This is free and open to the public.

Here is this season's lineup which is curated by Lana Garland (Insibah Media), Artistic Director for the Annual Hayti Heritage Film Festival:

April 26th - Chavela (documentary film) - Run Time 93 minutes

May 24th - Thunder Road (feature film) - Run Time 90 minutes

Synopsis: A police officer faces a personal meltdown following a divorce and the death of his mother. Officer Jim Arnaud (Cummings) embarks on a long and painful monologue at his mother’s funeral, slightly transpiring the turmoil that his soul is enduring. He almost laughs and cries at the same time, performing a hilarious theatrical number in front of the attendees, who remain quiet and shocked in the jaw-dropping opening sequence. Technically, you would call the speech a eulogy, but the mildly absurd free-associational confessional ramble that pours out of Jim feels more like a reality-show outtake — which makes it, in fact, one of the most authentic eulogies you’ve ever seen in a dramatic feature. Jim Cummings is the star, writer, and director of the SXSW Grand Jury winner, “-Variety.”
