Description

Fourth annual Open Farm - 2019

This is the 4th edition of our event to bridge farming and technology. It will be on October 23, 2019. Last year, we met at UC Kearney in Coalinga to talk about the latest in technology adaptation to provide farms solutions with a measurable ROI. This year, the focus is on automation: how can we prepare for the future by integrating the different pieces of technology together? The event is hosted by SCE in Tulare, in collaboration with CSU Fresno (BlueTech Valley), UC Agricultural and Natural Resources (The Vine), West Hills College Coalinga (Farm of the Future), Bowles Farming, PowWow Energy, and Western Growers (Center for Innovation & Technology). Western Growers is joining this year and the Director of Western Growers CIT will lead the industry panel.

The day will start with hands-on demonstrations, peer-reviewed presentations, and an industry panel during lunch. The keynote will be made by Mike Chrisman on the future of farming in the Tulare basin with the new SGMA regulation coming to effect in January. Mike is a 4th generation grower who is currently a Director of the Tulare Resource Conservation District and he was the Secretary for Natural Resources from 2013 to 2010.

Save the date! Register and you will receive the final agenda by email.

This event is hosted by Southern California Edison with the participation of Blue Tech Valley, Bowles Farming, CSU Fresno, PowWow Energy, The Vine, and WHC Coalinga.
