Event description

Description

You are cordially invited to the Fourth Annual Atlantic City Hero luncheon supporting the Atlantic City Police Foundation. Those that attended our prior sold-out events enjoyed the hospitality of the Atlantic City Palm, participated in our auction, won great door prizes and celebrated our honorees. Bill and Muriel Elliott will be honored for their outstanding efforts in the community. Atlantic City Police Officer Timothy Richvalsky will also be recognized for his role in responding to a hit and run traffic crash which resulted in his being stabbed in an unprovoked attack.

Bill and Muriel Elliott founded the HERO campaign to honor their son, Navy Ensign John R. Elliott, killed by a drunken driver in 2000. The HERO Campaign seeks to end drunk driving tragedies nationwide by promoting the use of safe and responsible designated drivers. The Elliotts also initiated and successfully lobbied for the passage of “John’s Law” by the New Jersey legislature in 2001, which requires police to impound the vehicles of suspected drunken drivers for up to 12 hours, regardless of whether the driver is released. For more information about the Hero Campaign go to www.herocampaign.org and consider registering for the John R. Elliott Hero Walk & 5K Run being held on Sunday, October 20, 2019 on the Ocean City Boardwalk.

The Palm Restaurant, known for its charitable works, joins in partnership with the Atlantic City Police Foundation in saluting regional leaders who have given back to the public safety community. Our Hero luncheon will raise funds for non-budgeted Atlantic City Police Department equipment, programs and initiatives. General Manager Jim Haney, Executive Chef Ron Reid and Special Events Manager Barbara Bermel have planned a delicious menu and looks forward to welcoming you.

Since all prior Hero luncheons were sold out, please purchase your tickets as early as possible so that you can be assured a seat at this event.

P.S. If you would rather pay by check, please send your check (the Police Foundation does not take credit cards) payable to the Atlantic City Police Foundation, P.O. Box 8323, Atlantic City, NJ 08404 noting the names of the attendees and whether they are current or former members of the public safety community ($75 each) or others ($100 each). Cash bar. An email address of at least one member of your group must also be included since we will send tickets only by email.

Please email us at info@acpolicefoundation.org with any questions.
