Event description

Description

Otherwise known as lily-of-the valley, Muguet is a pretty, delicate flower originally imported to Europe from Japan. The Celts cosidered muguet a lucky charm, while in continental Europe "bals de muguet” were opportunities for single young people to meet without parental supervision (ooh la la!). A symbol of hope and prosperity, the French socialist movement saw in this fragrant plant a fitting symbol for their campaign for 8 hour work days. Muguet eventually overtook the more prosaic red triangle (and red rose) as the symbol of the early socialist movement, whence the tradition of wearing muguet every May 1, in France.

MORE INFORMATION

In her accord-building classes, Ashley Eden Kessler shares her professional training by leading the class through the theory, aromatic components and best practices in classical accord creation. In this iteration of Ashley's accord classes, we will be going deep into the richly symbolic and - most importantly - delicate and beautiful muguet.

After reviewing the materials and components of muguet's aromatic profile, the class will collaborate to build the best accord, as a group. Each student will then have time to create their own variation, and will leave with their own personal formiula.

This class is perfect for perfumers looking to expand their technical prowess. All levels are welcome.
