HowNow Presents: Founders@Work

What makes Founders tick - why and how have they built the successful businesses that we know and love today. Join us for an inspiring evening as our panelists discuss their varied routes to success, highlighting their lessons and experiences along the way.

Panelists:

Tushar Agarwal

Tushar is co-founder and CEO of Hubble (hubblehq.com). Previously, Tushar worked in Investment Banking at Greenhill & Co, Barclays, RBS and Morgan Stanley. He holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics. 

Hubble was launched in 2014 and is London's largest marketplace for renting flexible office space, with over 2,500 offices available on monthly rolling contracts and over 60,000 businesses signed up. Hubble is backed by the people behind Zipcar, Wealthfront and GoCompare and has raised over £2.5m from investors shared with Transferwise, Revolut and Magic Pony Technology. 

Devika Wood

Devika started her career at Google at 18, followed by becoming a cancer research scientist at Imperial and achieving a masters in public health from Imperial University. Devika has worked on the development of two award-winning health tech start-ups in the UK – Babylon and Medefer. Her passion to innovate and disrupt in the care industry has seen her win industry recognised awards for her latest venture, Vida, and be featured on the Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2018, for healthcare and science.

Devika was recognised as healthtech pioneer in Europe for 2018, an “inspirational woman” by Glamour magazine and made the front cover of courier magazine as a startup to watch in 2018. The Business Insider recognised Devika as one of the “29 coolest female founders” in the UK.


Sohrab Jahanbani

Sohrab has been an entrepreneur for more than 20 years, launching 7 different ventures across 6  markets. During that time Sohrab has seen the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, most recently building GoNabit across 5 countries in the Middle East and later selling the business to LivingSocial. He is currently co-founder and CEO of Bidvine a local services marketplace based in London.  Aside from being a passionate builder, Sohrab is an enthusiast of world history and cinema. 

Marie Outtier

Marie is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Office of London based Aiden.ai, the AI-Powered marketing analyst that makes recommendations and optimisations for mobile app marketers.

 

Before starting Aiden.ai Marie built her marketing experience over the course of 8 years working at agencies and mobile marketing startups. She has a proven track record of helping marketing professionals and CMOs stay on the cutting edge of digital marketing.


Aiden uses a combination of machine learning and human intelligence to detect costly anomalies, identify possible causes and perform appropriate improvements on behalf of marketers.

 

The company is backed by some of most successful entrepreneurs of the past decade, and the world’s AI and NLP experts, including Alexandre Lebrun founder of Wit.ai (acquired by Facebook) Sophia Bendz (ex head of Marketing at Spotify.)

Nelson Sivalingam

Nelson is a serial entrepreneur and award-winning filmmaker. In 2016, Nelson co-founded and currently is the CEO at the educational technology company HowNow, disrupting the way in which digital learning is delivered and knowledge is monetised. The innovative platform raised a seven-figure investment from Fuel Ventures which includes Mark Pearson (MyVoucherCodes) and tennis superstar Andy Murray. Nelson has been a speaker at Google Campus, an Ambassador for Startup Britain and a Guest Lecturer on Entrepreneurship. He has been recognised by Virgin Media Business as one of the top 30 young innovative founders in the country as well as one of the top Asian Stars in Tech by KPMG. He is a thought-leader on Startups and Tech contributing to publications such The Guardian, The Telegraph and Startups.co.uk, and recently he was featured in Bloomberg's documentary on Entrepreneurial Mindset.
