Founder Stories, Challenges & Success: Food Entrepreneurship Panel
The Hudson Library & Historical Society will host a Food Entrepreneurship Panel as part of its Winter/Spring 2017 Entrepreneurship Series on Thursday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m. Phil Nabors of Mustard Seed Market & Café, Brian Gura, owner of Cleveland Tofu and president at International Specialty Produce (ISP), Inc., Linda Coleman of Olive My Heart and Elizabeth and Maggie Pryor, co-founders of Chill Pop Shop will share their founder stories, challenges and successes. The panel will be moderated by Vivian Goodman of WKSU’s Quick Bites and a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier of Cleveland.
Phil Nabors is the President of Mustard Seed Market & Café. This specialty food store is “locally owned and family grown,” with stores in Montrose, Solon and the newest location, Highland Square in Akron.
Brian Gura has owned Cleveland Tofu, which is produced at ISP, since 2005. His tofu was developed for American palates and is closer to the texture of meatloaf as opposed to the paté style of Asian tofu.
Linda Coleman is the owner of Olive my Heart, a family-run business located in Hudson. The shop offer vinegars and olive oils from around the world and their shop includes tasting rooms.
Chill Pop Shop cofounders are Elizabeth Pryor, CEO and Maggie Pryor, Product Director, of this Cleveland-based food business. They produce frozen fruit pops with real fruit and natural, fresh ingredients. The company has quickly grown from selling pops from a push cart at local markets to being available in more than 60 stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Eastern region of the county including Whole Foods.
