Founder Dialogues is a Cambridge-based public event series featuring successful founders.
Have you ever wondered about the founders behind successful companies? How did they dream up their businesses? How did they get enough conviction to bet on success? What path led them to where they are now? What challenges did they face? What advice would they give to future entrepreneurs?
Founder Collective is dedicated to creating a forum for the start-up community to have these and more questions answered. We hope to enhance connections between entrepreneurs, students, venture capital funds, and early-stage startups through the real-life success stories of selected startup founders.
Mick founded Kiva in January 2003 after spending time in high tech product development, manufacturing, operations and marketing. Prior to Kiva, Mick worked on a business process team at Webvan designing a next generation distribution strategy for grocery home delivery which sparked the idea for mobile robotic fulfillment. Prior to joining Webvan, Mick spent time in product marketing at Apple Computer as a Product Manager where he helped move many new technologies into the standard desktop platform including FireWire, DVD, Fast Ethernet, and 3D graphics acceleration. In 2008 Mick was a winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award in the New England region, and in 2009 under Mick’s leadership Kiva was ranked #6 on the Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing private companies in America. Mick holds five US technology patents. He earned a BS in mechanical engineering from MIT and an MBA from HBS.
