FAQs

Is there a cost to attend Pumpkin Fest?

Admission is free, but many activities and food items will require tickets which can be purchased at our pumpkin sales booth or food tent. We can accept cash or credit/debit. Proceeds benefit our adult, youth, and children's ministries, which in turn allows us to continue our well-documented support of local and international missions. For information on our supported missions, please don't hesitate to contact our church office at 254-780-9673. We are grateful for your support!

Will I need to bring cash?

You can purchase tickets at our pumpkin sales booth or food tent using either cash or debit/credit. Activities will range from 1-3 tickets (1 ticket=1 dollar) and there will be plenty of reasonably priced options at the Food Tent. While we are seeking to raise funds for our church ministries, we have no desire to "gouge" families who have chosen to come be our guests!

If I don't use all my tickets, may I get a refund?

Our volunteers won't be equipped to be able to offer refunds for unused tickets. We will have very clear signage at the event itself and available on our pumpkin patch website so you can plan what activities you'd like to participate in and purchase accordingly. If you happen to find yourself with leftover tickets, we hope you will bless a fellow family at the Patch as you leave.

Will you be giving out candy?

We are offering a free Light the Night event on October 31st (see foundationumc.org/pumpkin-patch for more details) where kids can come and enjoy piles of free candy and other goodies. At Pumpkin Fest, our focus is on the experience rather than the treats. Concessions such as popcorn and cotton candy will be available in our Food Tent, but any prizes given out at games will be non-food/allergy safe.

Are animals allowed in the Pumpkin Patch?

Well-trained service animals are always welcome here at Foundation. Pets are not allowed in our buildings or in the Pumpkin Patch due to allergy and safety concerns, as well as to protect our pumpkins from damage. If you want to bring Fido up to church, we recommend you visit our church website for information on our upcoming Blessing of the Animals service!

Where do you source your pumpkins? Why should I purchase from you instead of the grocery store?

Pumpkin Patch Fundraisers (PPF) began in 1974 in North Carolina with 3 acres of pumpkins and a partnership with one church. After being hit by Hurricane Hugo, they moved farming operations to the Navajo Indian Reservation in Farmington, NM. In cooperation with the Navajo Nation, they now grow 1,200 acres of pumpkins and employ over 700 Native Americans during the harvest months of September and October. PPF also has a full time off-season NM staff that is comprised entirely of Native Americans. This has a positive and lasting impact on a region with 42% unemployment.

Pumpkin Patch Fundraisers also exercises sustainable agricultural practices. They implement crop rotation, varying crops from year to year to limit pest problems thereby reducing the need for insecticides. They use cover crops to prevent soil erosion & suppress weeds--this limits the need for the use of herbicides. They utilize soil-mapping technology, which enables them to use the optimal amount of seed and fertilizer. All Pumpkin Patch products are non-GMO. These responsible agricultural practices mean that we provide a great product, which has less of an impact on the environment.

Purchasing from our Pumpkin Patch not only supports local ministries and missions, it creates a fun, family tradition and memory that will last a lifetime!
