Description

Facilitating sex education effectively requires unique skills to create safe and supportive environments and promote student learning.

The Coalition for Adolescent Sexual Health and the Collaborative for Comprehensive School Age Health are here to help!

The *Free* Foundations: Core Skills Training for Sex Ed. Plus two-day training covers important skills, including climate building in the classroom, understanding state and loccal sex education policies, experiential learning as a pedagogical approach, values exploration, managing personal disclosure, and handling challenging questions and harassing comments.

In addition, participants will explore strategies that can be used to create a safe and inclusive LGBTQ learning envirionment, such as the definition and need for LGBTQ-inclusive sex education; community and policy sources providing support for LGBQ-inslucive sex ecducation; and assumptions frequently made concerning LGBTQ youth.

*Training will be 8:30am-5pm on October 5 and 6. Participants must attend both days.

**Parking, lunch, coffee, and snacks will be provided
