Join docent Katherine McNenny for a walking tour along 7th St., from Skid Row over into the lower Arts District. She will highlight a future bike lane corridor which will transport people from the financial district all the way to the LA River & over into Boyle Heights.
You will see some historic remodeled SRO (Single Room Occupancy Hotels) in Skid Row dating back to the turn of the 20th century side by side with an active industrial zone. View new tree plantings as you make your way to the lower boundary of the Arts District as well as many buildings in flux & an area on the verge of massive change. Katherine is co-founder of Industrial District Green, an organization actively planting & caring for trees in the area. Several trees have been planted along this route in anticipation of the futurehttp://www.industrialdistrictgreen.org/ .
