FotoDC is proud to announce the:

FotoWeekDC 2015 Competition: Photojournalism

Storytelling at its finest. Join the ranks of six years of entrants with your finest newsworthy and timely images.

A winner will be awarded for both Single and Series Categories

$400 cash award for curator's pick in singles and series

Joshua Cogan Molly Roberts Kathryn Keane
An Emmy-winning photographer and anthropologist whose work focuses on documenting vanishing cultures and exploring social issues through photography and new media. Most recently he was on assignment with the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage doing asset collection for the Smithsonian’s upcoming Folklife Festival on the mall this summer. Cogan’s work has also appeared in the New Yorker, GQ, Washington Post, National Geographic and the New York Times. A photographer and photography editor, currently Chief Photography Editor at Smithsonian Magazine, with 25 years experience in the magazine publishing world. She is an advocate for powerful visual storytelling and human rights.She recently created the non profit organization HumanEYES USA to use powerful imagery to bring attention human rights issue in the USA. As Vice President of Exhibitions at The National Geographic Society, Kathryn oversees the National Geographic Museum and it's extensive network of traveling exhibitions and global museum partnerships. Each year, National Geographic features exhibitions, live events and programming with some of the world's finest photojournalists. For over 125 years, National Geographic's has used the power of photography to illustrate the pressing issues facing our planet and to celebrate the world and all that's in it.

Regular Pricing - Sept 16 through Oct 12

1-4 images $12 per single image
5-9 images $10 per single image
10+ images $9 per single image

Photo Series Entry

All images must be submitted before Oct 13th.

Instructions on how to submit images will be sent with the order confirmation.

Images created via any form of photography will be accepted for consideration (film, digital, mobile phone, and alternatives processes), but must be submitted electronically.

FotoWeek DC, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, is committed to raising awareness of the power of photography everywhere, in all its forms.

The winners will be announced in the first week of November 2015. The winning images and honorable mentions from each of the categories will be shown online and exhibited during FotoWeekDC 2015 at the Former Spanish Ambassador's Residence.
