Fostering Teens MA
Event Information
About this Event
Is there room in your home and heart for a foster child? The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is actively recruiting foster parents for teenagers in your community. We are searching for individuals or families with the love and patience to help teens thrive and make life-long connections. As you may be aware, many teenagers age out of the foster care system without the support of a trusted adult. This fact alone makes it very challenging for the teen to succeed as they take their first steps into the adult world.
The goal of DCF is to provide teens in foster care with a supportive and healing environment in a home in their own community until they can be reunited with their families or another plan can be made on their behalf. The rewards of providing daily care, guidance, and acceptance are immeasurable. Imagine being able to help a teen graduate from high school or find employment. Better yet, imagine just being there to support a teen through the many transitions they will face! Could this be you?
The Department of Children and Families is excited to invite you to join Fostering Teens MA in a robust information session on April 13, 2021. Please consider coming to learn about all the ways you can get involved, and perhaps change the future of a youth in need!
A Webex link will be e-mailed to registered participants approximately one week prior to the meeting. It will be sent through Eventbrite. Be on the lookout for it; sometimes it ends up in junk mail.
If you have any questions about the event or any questions/topics you wish to see covered, please email them to Brenda Fitzgerald at Brenda.fitzgerald@mass.gov
