As part of the Outreach to Educators Initiative from AFS-USA, AFS Heartland Area Team is hosting a workshop to connect 9-12 in-service educators in USD 383 and secondary pre-service teachers in the Kansas State University College of Education with resources available to teach intercultural understanding and global citizenship. Resources from AFS-USA, Scholastic, Inc. Global Citizenship Curriculum and iEARN, an interactive website designed to encourage teacher and student collaboration through projects available globally, will be shared. Teachers will have the opportunity to elect to participate in iEARN collaboration center projects. A school subscription is provided by AFS for one year. A light supper will be served.
The objective of the Outreach to Educators Events (OEE) Grant is to strengthen relations with teachers by hosting workshops and seminars that draw upon the connection between global learning and intercultural exchange.This event is free and is geared towards educators and students but all are welcome.
