Fostering Financial Literacy for Youth: Financial Goal Setting

Fostering Financial Literacy for Youth is a four-part workshop series designed to equip afterschool program staff with the knowledge, tools and resources to teach their high-school age youth to become financially savvy and in control of their financial futures. Participants will be provided with provided financial literacy resources and lesson plans. The training includes a training of trainer session to help in transferring the information to youth. Fostering Financial Literacy for youth is funded by Morgan Stanley.

This workshop talks about the purpose of saving money and teaching students how to make thoughtful, well-informed decisions about important aspects of personal finance. It addresses creating a safety net and smart planning for their future. Participants will learn how to teach students how to make short-term, medium-term, and long-term savings goals and identify the opportunity costs of saving and investing.

Coffee/tea provided. Participants are welcome to bring breakfast with them. Lunch will be provided.

Participants will receive certificates upon completion of the training
