Fostering Financial Literacy for Youth: Credit cards, Debts, and Loans

Fostering Financial Literacy for Youth is a four-part workshop series designed to equip afterschool program staff with the knowledge, tools and resources to teach their high-school age youth to become financially savvy and in control of their financial futures. Participants will be provided with provided financial literacy resources and lesson plans. The training includes a training of trainer session to help in transferring the information to youth. Fostering Financial Literacy for youth is funded by Morgan Stanley

This workshop will help staff teach their youth about being responsible with credit cards while avoiding the traps and schemes.

The choices we make, both online and off line, makes us vulnerable to Identity Theft, a Payday Loan scammer, a Ponzi or Madoff scheme, credit repair scam or have our debit or credit card used by some crook. Lessons and resources will be provided which you can help your students avoid the traps we face when dealing with unknown stalkers, predatory lenders and scammers.

Coffee/tea provided. Participants are welcome to bring breakfast with them. Lunch will be provided.

Participants will receive certificates upon completion of the training
