Event description
A Friday at Bayt al-Andalus: Lunch plus a short workshop on Liberating Structures, with guest facilitator Rasheed Raya (from Syria)

About this Event

A brief introduction into working with Liberating Structures.

Liberating Structures are a collection of interaction patterns that allow the facilitator to unleash and involve everyone in a group — no matter one's personality, role or "hierarchical position".

With Liberating Structures, every participant gains a place of equal importance. With this, LS are uniquely fit for basically non-hierarchical environments such as Scrum teams or entities for cooperative learning.

After a brief lunch together, Rasheed Raya will help us experiment with a string of LS, setting us en-route to explore how can we use LS to help ourselves, our teams, our friends and even our family members with their personal and career growth.

Based on group interaction and collective creativity, this workshop has no specific or predefined roadbook or destination. Call it a cooperative, collective exploration - or variations on serial themes with set patterns.

Rasheed Raya started his career as an IT lecturer at the University of Kalamoon, جامعة القلمون الخاصة in Syria. From 2014 to 2017 he worked as an interpreter for refugees (Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland). For the last few years, Rasheed has cofacilitated workshops with The Liberators - and has worked as a Scrum Master and an Agile Specialist in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
