Communication Skills for Success in Challenging Situations:
How to Command a Room and Deal with Conflict
All leaders need to be able to be heard, at a deep level, to be influential. And they must be able to react to conflict in ways that keeps people’s minds open to resolution. Doing these things the “alpha male” way—heavy handed and loud—just doesn’t work today . . . and is disastrous for women. What does work? And how can you apply it?
Join the conversation to explore models and tips that work well for women to communicate for impact, facilitated by Jeannie Coyle, Managing Partner of Talent Savvy Manager, LLC and co-author of Make Talent Your Business.
You will:
- Explore highlights of recent research on what works and does not work for women in gaining influence.
- Learn and try out an all purpose model for dealing with conflict that keeps people engaged in solving problems versus stuck in positions.
- Practice tips for commanding attention both the “quiet and louder” way.
This will be a highly interactive discussion with opportunities for comparing experiences and adapting new strategies and actions.
