What you can expect:

  • Examine the national landscape of State Peer Specialist Certifications, billing practices, and policy changes.

  • Review the CA stakeholder history and efforts towards State Certification of Peer,Transition Age Youth, Parent and Family Member Support Specialists.

  • Discuss what is working with Peer Specialist services in the Los Angeles County Region, what could improve and how State Certification might help.

  • Collaborate with County behavioral health administrative staff, consumer, family member and parent leaders of the Los Angeles Region to identify next steps in promoting and shaping policy around State certification.

Audience: County Behavioral Health Administration, Service Area Advisory staff and members, and Peer Leaders (consumer, consumer youth, family member of an adult and parent of a child/youth) from each service area in the Los Angeles Region
