The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office is pleased to host a data privacy forum in partnership with the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) and Internet Policy Research Initiative, the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, along with other stakeholders. The event is free and open to the public. The forum will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 8:00am – 12:00pm in MIT’s Building 10 (the Great Dome), Room 250.
Access to consumer data allows businesses to better serve their customers and to develop and deliver transformative products and services. However, unpredictable, unclear, or ineffectual privacy rules and protections threaten the trust, goodwill, and ultimately the investment necessary to support a robust, data-driven economy.
The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office is committed to working with all stakeholders to promote innovation, competition, and consumer privacy. To inform our consideration of these important issues, we invite you to join us in shaping a new partnership with a candid exchange of ideas and concerns. The forum is cohosted by MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society.
In the coming weeks, we will be filling and announcing more panelist participants, however, based on your responses from the previously shared issues, we have settled on the following panel topics:
