FFA2020 IS CANCELLED
Statement from the organisers of
the Forum for the Future of Agriculture
The FFA partners have announced that the 2020 Forum for the Future of Agriculture, scheduled to take place at The Square, Brussels, on Tuesday, March 31 will be cancelled following the escalation of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Europe. This follows the announcement by the local authorities that events of 1,000 or more people cannot go ahead until after March 31. This decision also applies to FFA side events of Monday March 30, Tuesday March 31 and Wednesday April 1.
The FFA organisers explained that the safety and wellbeing of our guests, speakers, staff and partners is their number one priority. It is therefore our responsibility to take into full consideration the latest developments concerning the worldwide spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus, including the World Health Organization's (WHO) recommendation that individuals "promote social distancing" and apply local regulations. The effects, actual and projected, of Coronavirus are becoming evident across all aspects of our lives across the world. With many of our participants, including speakers, facing potential travel restrictions we also do not want to reduce the high quality inputs and dialogue that FFA has become well known for. The decision has therefore been made to not go ahead with this year’s event.
We thank all those speakers, staff and others who have worked to deliver what promised to be another premier event.
If you have further questions, you can have a look at our FAQs or contact us directly.
We are currently working on a new plan and program for the remaining year to keep FFA active and relevant to our audience and partners. Visit our website in the upcoming weeks to stay tuned.
We look forward to seeing you again in the future safe and sound for further dialogue on agriculture and the environment.
Yours Sincerely,
The FFA Team
The Forum for the Future of Agriculture (FFA) is the premier meeting place in Brussels to debate sustainable agriculture and environmental challenges. Since 2008 the FFA has provided an open and inclusive setting to discuss the role of farmers, government, industry and citizens in ensuring that future farming models protect the environment and produce nutritious food that supports healthy lifestyles. FFA is where agriculture and environment meet for an open dialogue.
The registration is meant for people who intend to be in the room on the day of the event. If you will not be able to attend physically, but still want to be updated and follow the FFA news, please subscribe to our mailing list or follow FFA on social media.
