Event description

Description

The Tarrant County courthouse in downtown Fort Worth is an architectural gem which has been around since 1895. Join Edgar Miller of Edgar Miller Images and Arthur Weinman, local award winning architect behind the restoration of the western side of the courthouse and clock tower, as we learn the architectural details of the building, its history and how to photograph it in the morning light.

Photographically, Edgar will guide you in recognizing the best light and composition for photographing buildings through observation and hands on techniques with your camera. You will also receive instruction on photographing in black and white. Architecturally, Arthur will highlight unusual and intricate details of the exterior along with perspective challenges as we photograph the building from different locations.

This photo workshop is open to all skill levels and cameras. Bring your cameras, from smartphone to interchangeable lens cameras. Tripods are welcome if you have them. Edgar will instruct you on how to make the most of the gear you bring and help you create visually interesting photographs.

Heavy rain or thunderstorms will prompt a rescheduling. Please check the forecast and email updates.

Meet Edgar and Art at the steps to the main entrance on the south side of the courthouse.
