Event description

Description

True stories told live on stage!

The Fort Lauderdale Story Slam is a live storytelling competition in which 8-10 people tell a true story about their own lives in 5-7 minutes.

Our performers include both novice and seasoned storytellers, and comprise a diverse range of ages and cultural backgrounds. We are looking for teens (15+) and adults of all ages, to be in the slam. Tell us your idea for a true, personal story on the event theme (see below).

A panel of judges selects the winner, who receives $100 prize money, with $50 going to two runners-up. Participants are pre-selected, and anyone (aged 15+) who is interested in telling a story can submit their idea at worldandeye.com/storyslam.

Upcoming Themes

  • October 6th: "It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time"

  • November 18th: TBA
