The New Volunteer Orientation provides new volunteers (and OPOCs) with information regarding registration, safety, confidentiality, dress code, childcare, awards and incentives, ceremonies and events, policies, terminating volunteer service and an overview of ACS programs.
Participants will learn how to navigate the Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS) in order to register, input service hours, apply for positions, enter awards & work experience.
The Organizational Point of Contact (OPOC) training portion provides participants comprehensive instruction on how to manage volunteers and their activity through VMIS. Items covered included: how to track volunteers, service hours, and position descriptions. Participants will also learn how to manage volunteer applications, certify volunteer hours, edit volunteer information, run reports and manage volunteer activities.

In the case of a two hour delay due to inclement weather, classes will begin no earlier than 0930. Classes that begin later than 0930 will be held as scheduled.
If the roads on Fort Carson are closed, all classes scheduled for that day will be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date.
