Forests of the Sea: Art + Science of Kelp
Date and time
Intertwine your mind in an evening blending the art + science of kelp! A kelp artist, an algae scientist, and seaweed author dive deep.
About this event
The David Brower Center & Ann Holsberry invite you to an evening where art meets science!
Artist Ann Holsberry will describe her collaborative process with nature, through the use of cyanotype—a cameraless photographic printing process. She will be joined by other members of the Above/Below community: Curator of Algae, University Herbarium, UC Berkeley, Dr. Kathy Ann Miller, and photographer, author, and designer Josie Iselin.
These three esteemed women will discuss the endangerment of California’s declining kelp forests and how their work inspires its preservation.
Join us after the discussion for an outdoor reception on the terrace with beverages and light bites.
Doors open at 6:00 pm. FREE.
