Description

This five-day intensive short course is designed to familiarize participants with the forensic archaeological methods used to recovery human remains in outdoor contexts. Participants will learn how to search for, document and recover human remains via lectures and simulated scenes involving surface scattered and buried remains. Various state-of-the-art mapping and documentation techniques will be presented and applied during recovery. Lectures will also cover specialized techniques for mass fatalities, plane crashes and fatal fire scenes.

The class rus 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and the course fee includes all materials. Registrants must be 18 years or older.

Please note: registrants will be contacted by the organizer for their T-shirt size.

FAQs

Can I earn continuing education credits?

Yes. This course is approved for 33 American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI) continuing education credits and 35.5 Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training credits.

What if I need housing?

On-campus housing is available to registered attendees at a reduced rate. Please contact the organizer and let us know if you'd like single or double occupancy accommodatoins. More information is available at http://aklales.weebly.com/training-courses.html

What's the refund policy?

This $50 deposit of your $650 registration is non-refundable and will be applied to your total course fee. The remainder ($600) will be invoiced to you at the address provided. That invoiced portion of the fee may be refunded to you up to 30 days before the course begins.
