Foreman Construction Day
Wed 8 February 2017, 09:30 – 16:30 CET
Foreman will be holding the it's second annual Foreman Construction Day on Wednesday 8rd February 2017 (the day after ConfigManagement Camp).
As with last year, our aim is to build upon on the previous 2-4 days of talks and discussions, and put it to use! We're open to all members of our community, such as
* New users looking for help getting started with Foreman
* Users looking to start contributing
* Code contributors to any of the core projects
* Puppet coders for the installer
* Plugin authors (new or existing plugins)
* Translators / documentors
This is a great opportunity to get (more) involved in the community, and spend some face-to-face hack time with other Foreman devs. Hope to see you there!
We've learned from the first Construction Day, and this year, we're adding some talks & workshops to the agenda. The exact agenda is under discussion, but this is the current plan:
09.30 - Welcome & Introductions
10.00 - Deep dive / workshop 1
10.30 - Deep dive / workshop 2
11.00 - coffee break
11.30 - Deep dive / workshop 3
12.00 - Deep dive / workshop 4
12.40 - LUNCH
Afternoon - Coding time (with coffee break at 15.00)
16.00 - Conclusions & Thanks
You're welcome to form groups and do some coding in the morning too - we should have several rooms available. Currently proposed sessions are:
Getting started with contributing (dev environment, writing good bugs/PRs, getting help)
Running Foreman via docker-compose
Developing Foreman UI components with React
Getting started with Foreman plugins
