Ford Motor Company Corporate Historian and Creative Manager Robert Kreipke’s illustrated talk, “Ford Model T & A Production and Assembly Branches,” highlights the formerly endangered assembly branch plant built in Indianapolis in 1914 and others in the U.S. that turned out Model T and Model A automobiles.

Robert Kreipke joined the Ford Motor Company in 1975 as a filmmaker specializing in education, and public relations. He has received 50 major national and international awards for his films, videotapes and photographs. Kreipke serves on Ford’s William Clay Ford strategy committee and as chairman of the MotorCities National Heritage Area. He is the author of three books published by Ford Motor Company: Ford Motor Company: The First 100 Years; The Model T; and Faces of Henry Ford.

Indiana Automotive, an affinity group of Indiana Landmarks, sponsors the talk, which begins with light refreshments and cash bar at 5:30 p.m. Brief highlights of Indiana Automotive’s year and election of affinity group directors begin at 6 p.m.. Robert Kreipke’s talk begins at 6:15, concluding at 7 p.m. and followed by a Q&A session.

On November 11, 10 a.m.-noon, you can tour the 1914 assembly plant on Washington Street—a 2016 entry on our 10 Most Endangered list—in its “before” state prior to its conversion to apartments, offices, and retail by TWG Development.

The tour is is free for Indiana Landmarks and Indiana Automotive members and $10 per nonmember. Attending both events but not a member? Join to get a better deal!
