About this Event

Join us for the latest edition of, For the Culture Conversations, where we talk about hot and historical topics in black culture.

Peacebuilding matters and has changed the world. Join us for a talk with Brother Tim Bullock about the history of activism and tradition of peaceful non-violent resistance across the black diaspora.

Brother Bullock will discuss his work with the Pilgrimage of the Middle Passage, a 12-month walk through the eastern United States, the Caribbean, Brazil, West Africa, and South Africa in 1998-1999, reversing the direction of the Middle Passage symbolically and geographically.

Plus, he will discuss his collaboration with Dr. Vincent Harding in the Black Freedom Struggle and its legacy.

Speaker Bio:

Brother Tim Bullock works with the New England Peace Pagoda and has done activism for decades. He has dedicated his life to peace activism since his first (year-long) walk to retrace the route and history of the trans-Atlantic slave trade fifteen years ago and has worked with key leaders in the Black Freedom Struggle of the 1960s.
