Event description

Description

For their first concert of the 2018-19 year, the Trenton Music Makers Orchestra will invite their audience to join them in supporting the ongoing work to rebuild Puerto Rico a year after the devastation of Hurricane Maria.

Children in the third through the eleventh grades, joined by their teaching artists, will give an open-door concert for the regional community. Admission will be free of charge, but during the concert the audience will be invited to use their smartphones to make a direct donation to Giving Children Hope.

The Trenton Music Makers children, many of whom have family living in Puerto Rico, have selected this one from the small number of reputable organizations that the leaders of Trenton Music Makers proposed to them, because of Giving Children Hope’s focus on critical needs: shelter, food, and medical care. During the concert, they will take turns speaking to the audience about the experience of their families and friends living in Puerto Rico, and about the work in the region to support the ongoing challenge of rebuilding, supported by their charity of choice, Giving Children Hope.

No tickets are required. Join us on November 15 at 5:30, with your smartphone (on silent, please!).
