Event description

Description

The Archdiocese of Portland has formed a partnership with the recently established Catechetical Institute of Franciscan University of Steubenville. Its goal is the formation of catechists, schoolteachers, and youth and young adult ministry teams, RCIA, and catechetical leaders. Over 100 dioceses have reached out to work with them, and a third of those so far, including our Archdiocese, have formally partnered.

The Catechetical Institute (CI) offers a unique online and mentor-based catechist formation with access to top quality presentations from one the best Catechetics programs in the world. What Franciscan University has built is exceptional in its attention to the person, spiritual focus, immense depth and breadth of professional catechist formation, and high flexibility to attune to local needs.

This workshop for parish catechetical leaders will be presented by a team from Franciscan University, and will go into detail about how parishes will benefit from the CI. The team will also walk through the practical aspects of subscribing a parish or school and how to successfully utilize this wide array of tools and resources.

Doors open at 8:30am at St. Edward's in Keizer (in the parish hall). Lunch will be provided.

Please visit www.FranciscanAtHome.com to look at a sample workshop.

To give you a sense of the workshops, here are PDF's which outline details of three of the nineteen tracks:

Hispanic Faith and Family Track
