For middle school students: Microbiology at Home
Event Information
About this Event
This course occurs on three days: Tues April 13, Sun April 18, and Tues April 20. Different material is taught on each of the three days. Your one ticket covers all three days.
BUGSS is offering an exciting course for middle school students from grades 6-9. This will be an online course, but there will be hands-on activities. Sign up by March 30th and we'll send you a box filled with all of the materials that you need to carry out these three experiments at home. We'll conduct three experiments:
1. How to grow and identify the microbes that live all around us
2. What are algae blooms and why are they so damaging for the Chesapeake Bay?
3. Isolating microbes from our food-what do they do and why are they there?
