Event description

The Battered Women’s Movement Paradox

In over 40 years the domestic violence movement has achieved massive shifts in policy, funding, and scope of services. Yet Critical and Black Feminist theories strongly disagree with the direction the mainstream movement has taken. Have we really lost the compass? At this, highly interactive workshop participants will discuss the legacy of the domestic violence movement, review feminist and socioeconomic concepts, and learn from innovative models of intervention and culture shift.
