Description

This affordable Disaster Behavioral Health Conference is back by popular demand! The theme is Footprint of Disaster: Finding Strength. National and Local speakers will present on lessons learned from responding to national and local disasters. The conference offers Board Approved CE's for Psychologist and Social Workers.

The Day Includes:

Dr. Sara Hunt, University of Las Vegas, will share steps taken at UNLV Mental Health programs and community providers in response to the worse shooting in US history. She will share response data and lessons learned.

Terri Keener, LCSW, LSCSW, Behavioral Health Coordinator, Vegas Strong Resiliency Center will review the role of the Family Assistance Center and its transition to the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center.

Christine Paton, MS, LSC, Kristen Overton, MS, LSC and Heidi Streed, RN, LSN, PHN will present from Heartbreak to Healing: a practical, emotional and spiritual response to a community crisis.

Dave Fortier, MBA is a Boston bombing survivor and will share his experience and how that experience led to the development of a peer to peer humanitarian diplomacy through One World Strong Foundation.

Kelly Murphy, BCJ, MS is one of the first FBI Victim Specialist that responded to the Pulse Nightclub Shooting and worked directly with the victims and their family. Her presentation will focus on the needs and the importance of victim support services in the healing process.

Dr. Mitch Radin and David Hottinger, M.Div, of Hennepin Healthcare will give a presentation on Trauma Informed Care in a disaster setting.
