VOLUNTEER TODAY for the Football & Cheer Athletic Youth Camp.

Join us for the incredible FREE one-day Football & Cheer Camp sponsored by Palmer Williams Group and Angel Tree Sports Clinic.

What is the Football & Cheer Athletic Camp?
The Football & Cheer Clinic is for boys and girls 5-13 years old who have an incarcerated parent, or who live in communities that present significant risk factors.Sherman Williams, former NFL and University of Alabama player along with other professional football players and professional cheerleaders will be part of the day.

How many volunteers do you need?
We need 150 Adult Volunteers who want to make a significant and lasting impact on the lives of great boys and girls!

What types of volunteer roles are there?
Volunteers will be assisting in numerous areas like the "Check-In Gang" (help everyone get checked in, outfitted and assigned to squads and posts), "Squad Leaders" (male volunteers help organize, lead and supervise football squads of 10-12 kids from station to station), "Cheer Squad" (help cheerleading teams through drills), "Thirst Squad" (hydrate the kids throughout the clinic), "Grub Club" (help with lunch set-up and serving), "Gotta-Go Group"  (escort kids to the "needed facilities) and the "Fun Runners" (runners throughout the day).

What will the day look like?
Former NFL players, college athletes, and professional cheerleaders will lead kids through a fun-filled day of drills & skill development exercises.  Youth will gain new skills and learn about teamwork, leadership, and hard-work while forming incredible relationships with their peers.  All participants and their parents, adult chaperones/caregivers will be treated to a hearty lunch and the signature Angel Tree Sports Clinic "Lifting Kids Up" Ceremony at the end of the day.

What time do I need to be there?
We request that volunteers arrive no later than 7:00 a.m. to check-in and be ready to greet the kids when they arrive.  The event will end at approximately 3:00 p.m. followed by tearing down and clean-up.

Do I need to register in advance?
YES!
All volunteers must register in advance.  Due to the nature of the event, all volunteers will be background checked, so on-site registration for volunteers is not available.

Can my friends, small group or church group come?
YES!  We encourage you to bring your friends and celebrate this amazing day together.  Make sure they register in advance.  ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE.

I still have questions, who can I ask?
You may email angeltreesports@pfm.org or call Janna @ 703.362.0757

What is the catch?  What is the goal of the Youth Athletic Camp?
There is no catch.  Palmer Williams Group and Angel Tree Sports Clinic desire to bring boys and girls together for a day of fun with great volunteers to mentor and encourage them and share the hope of Jesus Christ.

Palmer Williams Group & Angel Tree Sports Clinics

The Palmer Williams Group (PWG) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization founded by David Palmer and Sherman Williams, former University of Alabama and NFL football players. The organization was created to provide youth development programs to assist and guide disadvantaged youth to overcome interpersonal obstacles, embrace family values, education and avoid life’s pitfalls. ***

Angel Tree Sports Clinics bring children of prisoners together to help them gain skills in various sports and learn about God's love. Angel Tree®, a program of Prison Fellowship®, serves incarcerated parents by providing a pathway for restoring and strengthening their relationships with their children and families. With lessons designed to build skills, confidence, and character Sports Clinics serve at-risk youth who might not have the chance to go to a sports clinic or camp. Kids of all ages and abilities have the unique opportunity to learn from the best—college sports stars and former professional athletes, many of whom have experienced similar personal struggles, including parental incarceration.
