Event Details

Join us for an exclusive visit to the Met Cloisters on October 22nd for a tour of the famous herb gardens with Managing Horticulturalist Caleb Leech, an introduction to the museum and food-related works of art by Curator in Charge Dr. C. Griffith Mann, and a description of medieval cuisine by art historian Dr. Stephen K. Scher, ’56, Ph.D. ’66. This is our first visit to the Met Closters; our previous visits to the Met 5th Avenue have been among the most talked about Foodtober events.

Directions: The Met Cloisters is located at 99 Margaret Corbin Drive in upper Manhattan’s Fort Tryon Park. There is free parking around the museum. The museum can be accessed on public transportation by taking the A train to the 190th street subway station (take the elevator up and walk through the park), or by taking the M4 bus directly from Madison Avenue/83rd Street to the last stop (allow ample time for this option).

The group will be strictly limited to 15 guests. Please purchase yours now to assure your spot.

Net proceeds from Foodtober events benefit The Yale Sustainable Food Program, City Growers and Just Food, and support YALE.NYC'S ongoing programming.

Photos might be taken at YALE.NYC events for use on YALE.NYC'S website, newsletter, and social media.

YALE.NYC event tickets are nonrefundable. If you are unable to use the tickets you have purchased, please let us know so that we can make your space available to our waitlist or scholarship attendees. Proceeds from unused tickets may be donated to the event beneficiaries or used to fund event expenses.
