Recipes for a Delicious and Sustainable Future

Please join us for an exceptional evening and tasting menu to benefit the MAD / Yale Collaboration, featuring Alex Atala, Star of Chef’s Table with special guest chefs and experts

  • Ignacio Mattos, chef and co-owner of Estela, Café Altro Paradiso and Flora Bar.
  • Dr. Paul Freedman, Chester D. Tripp Professor of History, Yale University
  • Dr. Arielle Johnson, former head scientist, Noma; Director’s Fellow, MIT Media Lab
  • Chef Adrienne Cheatham, ICE Chef-Instructor

Alex Atala, a graduate of the MAD / Yale Summit, will join us from Brazil as our headline chef. Dubbed “the most interesting man in the world”, and a “god of food”, Alex’s work elevates indigenous foodways and culture in the context of contemporary gastronomy.  His restaurant D.O.M in Sao Paulo has ranked in the top 10 of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants for the past five years.

NYC’s acclaimed Chef Ignacio Mattos will join Alex in the kitchen, and in conversation with leading thinkers. Over the course of the evening, we will explore what a delicious and sustainable future will look like.

Guests are invited to arrive at 6:30 pm for a cocktail hour followed by a seated dinner.

MAD/ Yale Collaboration

The MAD Yale Collaboration brings together Yale University and the MAD Foundation, a Danish non-profit affiliated with Noma, the acclaimed restaurant founded by chef Rene Redzepi. The Collaboration brings established and emerging chefs and scholars together to build a creative and critical appetite for changing today's food systems for the better. Chefs and students engage in a liberal arts approach to food systems thinking, exploring cross disciplinary inquiry, and their own leadership potential, both inside and outside the kitchen. In 2016, the Collaboration held the MAD / Yale Leadership Summit, which welcomed eight of the world’s pre-eminent chefs to Yale’s campus for a week-long curriculum.
