Event Details

Join yale.NYC for an evening of Farm-to-Table dining and discussion. Our host for the evening is Min Ye, '95, co-owner with her husband Morten Sohlberg of Blenheim Restaurant, a Michelin-rated restaurant which sources produce and livestock from their own 150-acre Blenheim Hill Farm in the Catskills. Our co-host is Just Food, one of our non-profit partners for Foodtober. Over dinner, we'll hear from Just Food's Executive Director Qiana Mickie, who will explain the four programs they run to promote a soverign and healthy food system in New York City, rooted in racial, social, economic and environmental justice. And we'll hear from Min about the challenges and triumphs of farm-to-table sourcing.

Our dinner includes a three-course meal and free-flowing organic and biodynamic wines from Cooper Mountain Winery in Eastern Oregon, taxes and gratuities. Yale Sustainable Food Project KALE T-shirts can be purchased with your ticket and received at dinner. 

About Blenheim Restaurant, from Michelin:

Even the decor here at Blenheim reflects this philosophy by way of distressed wood paneling and a style that is far more country-cool than precious. There may be no more genuine expression of this kitchen than the farm eggs, their yolk bright orange and fresh, set beside gently charred slices of hangar steak and fork-tender fingerlings..."

Our Menu:

FIRST:
Sunchoke Soup
duck confit, hazelnut, aged balsamic

SECOND:
Poached Farm Egg
guanciale, spaghetti squash, heirloom tomato

THIRD:
Blenheim Pork "Three Ways"
apple cider glazed brussels sprouts, stewed cranberry beans
          or
Celery Root en Croute
roasted pumpkin, tuscan kale, puff pastry

DESSERT:
chocolate cremeux
mint cacao nib ice cream, pistachio brittle


Tickets start at $60, including our four-course meal, gratuities, and free-flowing wines. Please arrive between 7 and 7:30pm - a cash bar will be open during that time; Dinner will start at 7:30pm, and wines during dinner are included in your ticket price. 

Foodtober is a month of activities and events celebrating and examining our connection to food. Foodtober is organized by the Yale Alumni Association of New York, connecting Yalies with each other and our communities. Net proceeds from Foodtober events benefit The Yale Sustainable Food Program, City Growers and Just Food, and support YALE.NYC'S ongoing programming.

This event has a limited number of tickets. Please purchase yours now to assure your spot. 

Photos might be taken at YALE.NYC events for use on YALE.NYC'S website, newsletter, and social media. YALE.NYC event tickets are nonrefundable. If you are unable to use the tickets you have purchased, please let us know so that we can make your space available to our waitlist or scholarship attendees. Proceeds from unused tickets may be donated to the event beneficiaries or used to fund event expenses.
