Event description

Description

Join us on Saturday, June 22nd as we kick off our Black Summer Series with a potluck discussion on Black Liberation. This conversation will be co-facilitated by Marvin Greer from Missouri Historical Society and Nay'Chelle Harris of Young Friends of the Ville. We will gather in Fairground Park near the pool, touching on topics including the 70th anniversary of the Pool Race Riots, Juneteenth, and the 5 year anniversary of Michael Brown Jr.’s murder.

This month's culinary theme is "the cookout."
Come share what’s on your mind and bring a side dish for the barbeque!

Other items to consider bringing: blankets, cushions, folding chairs, tupperware, reusable eating-wear and utensils

This event is free and open to the public. Families and children are welcome. This series is co-organized by FoodSpark, Great Rivers Greenway, The Griot Museum of Black History, Missouri Historical Society, and Young Friends of the Ville.
